Great books to help kids write stories!
- How to Write Stories by Celia Warren; www.qeb-publishing.com. I recommend this fun interactive book for middle grade kids to have fun with tips on "pinning your ideas to the page, creating believable characters, interesting lots and cliff hangers". Fun graphic layout promotes creativity.
- Be A Creative Writer; Tick Tock Books. I would recommend this fun real-life writer trivia meets scrap book of writing style for 5th 6th and 7th graders and through Middle School students. Lots of cut and paste graphics and pop ups make this an interactive read as well as a learning experience!
- Scholastic Guides: How to Write Poetry, Paul B.Janeczko. Great basic guide to all types of poetry, a good introduction and a fun way to support the poetic knowledge and poem building skills of your juvenile poet.
